Elevated off the rookie list yesterday, ruckman Tom Campbell is set to become the fourth Western Bulldogs debutant in 2012 after being named in the side to face the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Impressing for Williamstown with a string of dominant ruck performances, Campbell has been given the opportunity to start in the centre on debut.

The 20 year old is a mature bodied ruckman, with a clean pair of hands and the versatility to rotate through the forward line.

Campbell made a lasting impression when lining up for the Western Bulldogs during the NAB Cup hit-out against North Melbourne - sharing the ruck duties and kicking three goals.

The only omission to the senior side from last week is big man Will Minson who will miss through Club imposed suspension.

“The major change is Will Minson out and debutant Tom Campbell coming in to play in the ruck,” Head of Development Chris Maple told BulldogsTV.

With a near full list to chose from, the Bulldogs line-up is beginning settle, particularly when it comes to defensive posts.

“Our back six starting to look fairly settled - Christian Howard came in last week [and] played a really good game on the half back flank - we are looking for more run and rebound from him,” Maple said.

“[Easton] Wood and [Robert] Murphy were great as well with that rebound. [Brian] Lake, [Mark] Austin obviously have got a big job on [Brisbane’s] talls.”

The Bulldogs also have much experience sitting on the cusp of senior selection, with Lindsay Gilbee, Ryan Hargrave and Nathan Djerrkura named as emergencies.
