A number of Western Bulldogs veterans were out to impress against Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday in a final push to gain Toyota AFL Dream Team selection.

Topping the Western Bulldogs Dream Team list this week was none other than perennial high scorer Matthew Boyd.

But in a positive sign for the Bulldog faithful, Boyd found company at the top of the table with a number of stalwarts finding their legs ahead of Season 2012.

Skipper Matthew Boyd pulled out all stops and confirmed why he is Captain with 129 Dream Team points (36 disposals, 8 marks) at the final siren.

Another player who should be on a number of Dream Team radars is consistent contributor Daniel Cross who left the field with a solid 117 point DT effort.

Punching above his 2011 DT average of 97.3, Cross found 30 possessions, 8 marks and 3 tackles and looks to be finding form in time for the season opener.

Shaun Higgins was next off the ranks after providing some spark in the forward line to kick a major and bolster his Dream Team score of 96 points.

The hard tackling Liam Picken continued to put his head over the ball time and time again with 6 tackles as well as six marks and a goal to his name.

His efforts saw a DT score of 95 points as he continues to rack in high scores throughout the pre-season hit outs - with his 124 point score against Carlton a highlight.

If the courageous defensive midfielder sees similar scores throughout the season then his $319,500 price tag could receive a substantial boost.

Finally, defender Robert Murphy was all class off half back finding 87 DT points to cap off his NAB Cup Campaign.

Honourable mentions also go to emerging talents Christian Howard, Tom Liberatore and mature aged draftee Tory Dickson all of which surpassed 70 DT points on the weekend.

Dickson ($99,700) in particular is one to watch as he continues to press for his senior debut as he continue to improve on his DT scores with confidence.

The 24 year old has scored 37, 63 and 89 in the last three NAB Cup clashes and could be a real bargain at his basement price if he continues to impress.
