Season Overview:
Lukas Markovic added another nine games to his career tally this season although a niggling hamstring complaint restricted his game time. The honest defender performed admirably against a number of the opposition’s key powerhouses throughout the year. Off the field he also took out the Western Bulldogs Community Award at the 2012 Charles Sutton Medal.
By the Numbers:
Markovic achieved a number of statistical highs throughout the course of the year including a career high nine marks, 16 disposals and 12 one percenters. He was the equal highest rated player at the Club in average one percenters alongside fellow backman Mark Austin. He was also placed sixth in disposal efficiency at the Bulldogs.

Season Highlight:
His performance against Adelaide Crows’ Taylor Walker in round 2 was respectable keeping him to three goals but collecting 16 possessions and nine marks himself. He also had seven one percenters, two tackles and two rebound 50s.
Pre-Season Focus:
Working alongside a number of emerging tall defenders this pre-season, Markovic will likely adopt more responsibility as one of the older heads in the group. Keeping up match fitness over the offseason and refining his defensive skills will be his predominant focus.
