WESTERN Bulldogs' stars Adam Cooney, Brian Lake and Shaun Higgins are likely to be fit for the Dogs' NAB Cup clash with Carlton in a fortnight, the Herald Sun reports.

The availability of this key trio will depend on how they get through the next two weeks of training.

"They would be genuine chances of playing, but it is something we will have to work through," Dogs football manager James Fantasia said.

"We are not saying they are definite, but they would be a good chance to get a hitout."

In further positive news for the Bulldogs, the club insisted that another star, midfielder Ryan Griffen, was recovering well from a hip problem after leaving the field early against Collingwood on Saturday night.
