Round 14
Williamstown         23.12  (150)

Def

Northern Bullants   11.11 (77)

Once again we are joined by Williamstown Coach Peter German as he casts his eye over another good win for the Seagulls on the weekend.

Peter thanks for taking time out to have a chat, how did you see the win on Sunday?

It was a solid win and a good four quarter effort.  The positive thing was that all players got through and performed well, so on a consistency basis we are doing well week to week.

And what did you make of the ground conditions, it looked pretty interesting on tv?

It actually did not really move or anything like that, the centre was a bit slippery and the ball did not bounce well in spots.  It didn’t look great but it was not that bad really.

It was concerning to hear that Jamason Daniels stepped on a syringe at the game, how is he holding up?

Yeah he is ok and obviously as a Club we are concerned. We will be finding out exactly what has gone on to ensure it does not happen again.

It certainly was an impressive effort for Jamason to go out and play after that.

Yeah and he played really well in our seconds as did Jason Tutt.  Hopefully we can get them in to the seniors for a game or two at the later part of the year.

How did you see Patrick Rose’s game?  A great effort to kick 6!

Yeah Patty was back to his elusive best and that has been one of his traits over the years.  To be honest he could have kicked 5 to 6 last week so he has been around the mark.

He also kicked 4 points to so he could have had 9 or 10 but like anyone he still has areas he needs to work on in his game.

And what about Andrejs Everitt?

Andrejs started as a forward and moved into the ruck after that. For someone to come back after being dropped and bring the right attitude speaks volumes for him.

He moved into the backline in the second half so he adds plenty of versatility to us.

And Tim Callan had another good game.

Yeah Timmy has been fantastic.  His defensive work in the backline is rock solid, he makes his opponent earn every kick.

He also sets up a lot of attack for us and it was one of his better games for the year

How about Dylan Addison and Liam Jones?

Yeah Dylan has moved into the midfield over the last 3-4 weeks and although it was not his best performance, we are really pleased with his growing understanding of the role.

Liam Jones has been outstanding for the last 6 to 7 weeks, his second efforts and pressure have been great and he is now starting to use his speed and marking ability.

We pushed him forward in the last few minutes and he had 3 quick shots, from a development perspective we are very happy with him

Anyone else we have forgotten?

Will Minson got a game under his belt and he played 3 and a half quarters.

Boumann was solid in defence, Christian Howard gets better every week and Josh Hill stepped up with a far more determined performance.

On the whole everyone performed well.

And what is next on the agenda for Williamstown?

Yes we play the Bendigo Bombers at home and they will have a few AFL players in so it is sure to be a tough game.

And finally you are on top of the ladder, are you managing to keep a lid on it?

To be honest I have not even looked at the ladder, there is a long way to go and Finals are a different ball game.
