WESTERN Bulldogs midfielder Daniel Giansiracusa hopes the intensity of the Dogs' Tuesday training session is an indication of the standard they will set against the Brisbane Lions this Friday night.

The Dogs hit the Whitten Oval track for 30 minutes on Tuesday, in what was a fast-paced session with plenty of encouragement, yelling and snappy movement, as well as icy winter-like conditions.

Giansiracusa said the hit-out was a way for the players to show they were determined to atone for their patchy game against Geelong on Saturday.

"It was nice short and sharp sessions where the boys had a crack," he said.

"We've all got pride in our performance, and we don't like what happened on the weekend.

"Out on the training track, I think you can start to get it right so we've got to take that intensity out into the game and I'm sure if we do that, we'll get a win."

Giansiracusa said Monday's review of the 14-point qualifying final loss to the Cats was honest, in-depth, and thoroughly necessary.

"Like it is after any loss – you come in Monday and you're glad when it's four o'clock because Rocket can move on pretty quickly," he said.

"We had a look through the tape and looked at things we didn't do well.

"It was good because it sort of cleanses the soul and then at four o'clock we're looking towards playing Brisbane."

He said the main revelation to come from the review was that the Dogs' needed to put together four quarters when playing finals football.

However, he said the Dogs still had strong belief despite the up-and-down performance on the weekend.

"It doesn't matter if it's Brisbane or anyone in the competition. There were even patches on the weekend when we played some okay footy," he said.

"We just can't have those lapses in concentration.

"We're keen to get out there again, as you are after a loss when you can't wait for the game to come around, and we're really confident we can get a win."

Giansiracusa, who missed rounds 14 to 20 with a knee injury, said he was looking to improve after a disappointing individual performance on Saturday.

"First game was okay and since then, my form hasn't been great," he said.

"As one of the leaders of the football club, I'm looking to get back on track. It's up to the seven of us in the leadership group to lead the way, and I'm one of them."
