Whitten Oval is set to feature in Footscray Community Arts Centre’s GO Show taking place this Wed 22 – Sat 25 October, part of the 2008 Melbourne International Arts Festival.

Join in a whirlwind tour of the West. Jump on board The GO Show bus at Footscray Train Station and take a tour of iconic venues around town, seeing the place and its people as never before.

The bus winds its way to Whitten Oval – home of the western region’s own Western Bulldogs – via Maddern Square in the heart of Footscray, and ends in the Basement Theatre of the Footscray Community Arts Centre. Along the way you’ll experience a live performance event created under the artistic direction of choreographer and director Rebecca Hilton and featuring over 150 professional and non-professional artists and community members from across the western suburbs.

Experience a taste of the West, see what the locals are passionate about and enjoy a wealth of diverse talent at The GO Show. Taking part in the action are senior citizens from the Ethnic Chinese Happy Age Association, various groups based at Footscray Community Arts Centre, young and culturally diverse hip-hop artists, Victoria University students, umpires from the Western Region Football League Umpires Association and numerous others.
