Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney is eyeing a Round 21 return when the Western Bulldogs take on Sydney in a fortnight, according to Senior Coach Brendan McCartney.

While he will not take to the field this Sunday against Richmond, a return to football in Season 2012 is still in his sights.

“Probably another one away - working extremely hard to get himself out on the ground,” McCartney said.

“We are probably one, maybe another week away from getting him there.”

Cooney has been restricted to the sidelines since round 15 with the ongoing management of a knee complaint.

Having already played out eleven games this season, his explosive run and experience will be a welcome addition to the Bulldogs midfield stocks on return.
