The countdown is on for the Club’s most anticipated event of the year. Taking place in just over 4 weeks time, the Western Bulldogs inaugural Hall of Fame on Saturday 29th May will celebrate the Bulldogs rich and colourful history and bring together the Club’s past and present greats.

In conjunction with this event, the Bulldogs Forever Foundation will launch The Bulldog Heritage, a book which features the stories of ninety players of the Footscray/Western Bulldogs Football Club.

The stories come from players who played for the Club and wore the Red, White and Blue jumper at under 19, reserve or senior level.  All the stories are different but together they combine to give readers an understanding of what it was like to be part of the Club across the eras.

Join us each week on westernbulldogs.com.au as we count down to this event and give you a sneak peak at just some of the great stories featured in the book.
This week we preview the VFA 1886 - 1924 era with a grab from Alex “Tattles” Patterson

ALEX "TATTLES" PATTERSON - Tattles was conferred with the Belgian Croix De Guerre by the King of Belgium after the First World War.  On his return to Australia he was met at the dock by two of the Footscray Committee who greeted him with a shout "Tattles are you fit, can you play on Saturday?"

This book is a must read, not only for all Bulldogs supporters, but for all who are interested in Australian Football.
