The Western Bulldogs’ community team are recruiting community-minded volunteers who are interested in making a difference to people’s lives in the West AND get a kick start in the Community Services sector.
You can volunteer with the Western Bulldogs’ community team AND complete a Certificate III in Community Services Work with Victoria University at the same time through the Club’s Community Services Involvement (CSI) program.
What does the CSI Program entail?
- Interview and application process
- Compulsory Induction Program & Training at the Western Bulldogs (2.5 hours)
- Approximately 50 to 70 hours of community services volunteering / work experience (depending on your experience and volunteering activities) from April to September 2012.
- Gathering a portfolio of evidence to complete the Certificate III in Community Services
- Recognition of Prior Learning interview with Victoria University
Volunteering opportunities are provided by the Club’s community department, SpiritWest Services and are linked in with Victoria University’s Certificate III in Community Services. The opportunities include Game Day experiences, variety of sports coaching and officiating, working with new arrivals and refugees to assist with their settlement in Australia and inter-school football carnivals.
This opportunity is available to those that meet the following criterion:
- Aged 16 to 19 years old as of 1st January 2012
- If over 19 as of 1st January, you must not have completed a Certificate III or higher qualification.
- You can be studying an undergraduate degree and partake in this program at the same time provided you complete the program before graduating - this provides an opportunity for students to receive dual qualifications upon graduating.
- You must be an Australian resident
If you do not meet these criteria and would like to participate you will need to pay a tuition fee to enrol.
