At the Annual General Meeting several players and members dedicated to the Club were recognised for their contribution..
As part of the evening several players and Members dedicated to the Club received awards to honour their ongoing contributions.
The Western Bulldogs would once again like to acknowledge the following Red, White and Blue blooded individuals for their commitment to the Club.
Life Members Awards:
Matthew Boyd - 150 club games
Matthew Boyd’s road into the AFL wasn’t easy and he eventually made his way to the Western Bulldogs via the 2002 Rookie Draft. Boyd is known for his determination and courage on field and it was honour for the club to award him a life membership.
Adam Cooney - 150 club games
Adam Cooney this year celebrated the 150 game milestone in Round 15. ‘Coon’s’ won the 2008 Brownlow Medal and is one of the current games greatest midfielders.
Daniel Cross - 150 club games
Daniel Cross is one of the modern games toughest competitors, he isn’t afraid to put his body on the line to win the hard ball and his work ethic is second to none. It was great to see Cross reach 150 games and we hope to see his skills on field for many years to come.
Brian Lake - 150 games
Said to be the best backman in the competition, Lake remains a down to earth guy who enjoys a laugh and it was great to see him join the likes of some of the Club’s favourite sons as a life member.
Gordon Casey - Past Player & Coach
Gordon has been both a player and assistant coach for the club, he
played 125 games between 1969 and 1975 including the 1970 Night Premiership team
Today he is a keen member of the WB Past Players and Officials Association so it is great to see his ongoing support recognised.
George Pappas - Director
George Pappas was installed as the Chancellor of Victoria University during 2010. George Pappas has been a Director of the Western Bulldogs since 2000 and was awarded a life membership at the AGM.
Kevin Meddings - Past Player & Westerner
Kevin has been part of the Westerners coterie group for over 40 years and has also been an active member in the Western Region.
Peter Hudson - Chairman Forever Foundation
Peter is Chairman of the Forever Foundation and through his tireless work in this area he has helped raise $6 million dollars for the Whitten Oval Redevelopment
