Western Bulldogs defender, James Mulligan was today placed on the long term injury list after sustaining an Achilles injury that will see him miss the remainder of the 2012 season.

The 199cm Queenslander has struggled with injury this season, failing to play a senior game after debuting against Geelong in Round 11 last year.

Western Bulldogs Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie said that Mulligan will need an extended period in rehabilitation to overcome his Achilles injury. 

“James’ Achilles hasn’t settled as expected. 

“We’ve taken the approach to spend more time rehabilitating and re-strengthening the area,” McKenzie said.
