Bulldogs Support Lentil As Anything
Staff from Whitten Oval ventured out to support a great community restaurant...
While the restaurant’s heart is well and truly in the right place, its unique financial model pins all hope on diners paying their fair share for their meal to cover costs including stock, rent and wages. And, unfortunately, this hasn’t been happening lately.
Lentil As Anything Footscray is now in real and immediate danger of closing its doors, due to low daily takings. Yet there’s no lack of clients enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner at the old Barkly Hotel location. With no government funding, every cent placed in the anonymous box at the end of a meal is vital to its survival.
And while Lentil As Anything stands proudly by its philosophy, wanting everyone regardless of their situation to have the opportunity to eat out and be social, it’s now more important than ever for those that can to pay fairly for their meal.
As a concerned neighbour, the Western Bulldogs would like to ask its members to head down to Lentil As Anything, 233 Barkly Street Footscray, to show the caring team how much we all appreciate their service to our community. We know you’ll love the healthy meals just as much as you’ll enjoy paying your way to help Lentil As Anything keep its doors - and busy kitchen - open.
