Veteran forward Daniel Giansiracusa is likely to return from a foot injury this week against Carlton at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

Senior Coach Brendan McCartney praised the 30-year-old’s approach to his rehabilitation in recent weeks and said he is a welcome return to the side, barring any set-backs during the week.

“He’ll [Giansiracusa] probably play if he gets through the week which is good; he probably brought his length of absence forward with some of really good rehab which is a good example to some of the younger players,” McCartney said.

The Western Bulldogs play Carlton at Etihad Stadium under lights on Saturday night.
