Daniel Cross and Tom Williams were officially recognised for their bravery last night after their heroics saved a woman from drowning in Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour.

LeasePLan Western Bulldogs President David Smorgon presented the pair with a plaque at the team’s season launch last night after they were awarded a certificate of commendation from the Director of Marine in Hong Kong.

Cross and Williams, in the city as part of an unofficial team trip, were waiting to board a cruise boat when the alert was raised
. After hearing shouts from bystanders the pair dived into the harbour and swam to the rescue of the drowning woman, who was belived to be attempting suicide.

They received minor cuts and bruises from the incident and were hailed as heroes after saving her life on October 4 last year.
