Lindsay to join the 200 club
Lindsay will join mates Gia and Murph in the 200 club this Sunday
Western Bulldogs stalwart Lindsay Gilbee will line up for his 200th game on Sunday against Carlton in front of a home crowd at Etihad Stadium.
Gilbee’s career includes All Australian honours in 2006, representing Australia in two International Rules series in 2005-06 as well as ranking third in the 2005
Western Bulldogs Best and Fairest medal count.
The defender known for his penetrating kick across the backline is in his twelfth year at Whitten Oval after being picked up by the Bulldogs with their third round selection (pick 43) in the 1999 National Draft.
A six goal haul against Richmond in Round 8 highlights his 2011 season, proving his kick can be damaging at both ends of the field.
A hamstring complaint kept him off the field in the first two rounds of the home and away season but Gilbee has taken to the field on ten occasions since.
After donning the Williamstown Guernsey for two rounds after being dropped in Round 11, Gilbee has returned to the seniors in more solid form ahead of the back end of the season.
He will take to the field for the 200th time on Sunday afternoon with a 4:40pm kick-off at Etihad Stadium.
