Harbrow departs, Eagleton calls it a day
Jarrod Harbrow and Nathan Eagleton have called it a day with the Bulldogs
Harbrow joined the Bulldogs via the 2007 Rookie Draft and has developed into one of the AFL’s most exciting defenders.
While the Club is disappointed to lose a player of Harbrow’s calibre, General Manager of Football James Fantasia said today he understood the reasons behind the decision.
“We invested a lot into the development of Jarrod and he has been a fantastic player for us. We left no stone unturned in our efforts to retain him but unfortunately the lure of returning home to Queensland proved to be too strong. We would like to thank Jarrod for his time at the Club and wish him all the best for the future,” Fantasia said.
In other news, Nathan Eagleton spoke to the playing group yesterday to announce his retirement from AFL football after 277 games.
A member of the inaugural Port Adelaide side, the South Australian represented Australia in the 1999 and 2005 International Rules Series, was a Rising Star nominee in 1997 and received the Western Bulldogs Match Committee Award in 2004.
“Nathan has been a fantastic player for our Club and I speak for everyone here in thanking him for his tremendous service over a number of years for the Western Bulldogs,” Fantasia said.
