After signing a one year contract extension with the Western Bulldogs this week, rugged midfielder Clay Smith is set for a big pre-season where he wants to get bigger, stronger and fitter.
In an honest interview with AFL Media’s Catherine Ellis, 19 year-old Smith talks candidly about his road to the Whitten Oval, his four goal haul on debut and his love of body art.
With “live the dream” plastered across his chest, Smith attacks life both on and off the football field.
“I got it just after footy season finished last year… as part of a present from mum and dad,” Smith said.
“It is to do with footy but it is to do with life as well - I always grew up and I wanted to play footy and I always wanted to do things.
“There are so many people that say that they want to do things and they dream of doing it but they don’t put everything into doing that.”
