‘Saying thank you to the Emergency Services’

The AFL, together with the Western Bulldogs & North Melbourne is proud to honour the men and women of the Victorian Emergency Services.

All those involved in the recent Victorian Bushfire disaster have been invited to the match. Western Bulldogs President David Smorgon said the match is an opportunity for the football community to now thank those that risked their own lives helping those in need.

All members are encouraged to join us at the inaugural Emergency Services Appreciation game to help say thank you and make this match one that will go down in history.
Before the match representatives of all Emergency Services will be acknowledged on the MCG with Bruce Woodley to perform “I am Australian”.
Volunteers who wish to attend the match are encouraged to contact their volunteer provider for ticket information.   A marquee will be position outside MGC Gates 1 & 3 for ticket collection from 12pm Sunday April 5. Emergency Services personnel can collect up to four tickets by showing their Emergency Services identification badge or by producing their invitation letter.
The National Sports Museum are also willing to provide their support to the Emergency Services by supplying wrist bands for all volunteers as they receive their tickets to the game as this will provide them with access to the museum once the event gates have opened to the public.  In the event that volunteers have their tickets prior to the game, we will provide entry on presentation of their SES identification.
“We at the National Sports Museum are delighted to be able open our doors to the magnificent volunteers who have been through so much during the recent tragic bushfires, and their families.  We know that they will enjoy this magnificent cultural asset of Melbourne and Victoria at the MCG” said Director, Gerardine Kerlin.
We look forward in seeing everyone to help support the Emergency Services of Victoria.
