WESTERN Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade has labelled his side's upcoming fixture as the perfect reason for unsigned members to recommit to the club.

With 10 rounds remaining, the Bulldogs have eight games at Docklands, one at the MCG, and must leave the state only once to play in Brisbane in round 20.

Eade said the Dogs' run into September, combined with the exciting brand of football they displayed on Saturday night in their 93-point win over Port Adelaide in Darwin, was a good reason for supporters to sign up.

"It's extremely important [members sign up]," he said, in an exclusive interview with afl.com.au.

"I realise it's tough economic times for people and I don't think our draw so far has helped with interstate trips and some away games so there hasn't been as much value for members early in the year.

"But, we're starting to play some really exciting footy and we're competitive most of the time. If our supporters can afford it, it would be great if they could sign on."

The Dogs are still 1,227 game day members short of their June figure from last year, and are aiming to surpass their total 2008 figure of 29,195 by the seasons' end.

Eade said the club simply needed the financial support of its fans if it was to remain a viable prospect in the years ahead.

He also said the Dogs would benefit from the presence of their fans as they attempt to break a 55-year premiership drought.

"The club wants to thrive rather than survive, and we're going to struggle against the bigger clubs eventually if we don't get the members on board," he said.

"We play eight of our last nine at Docklands so it's a good draw for members, and hopefully that will also mean we have a good run into the finals."
