The chance to experience the excitement of the Australian Open first hand became reality for 150 newly arrived Australians through the Western Bulldogs Settlement Grant Program in partnership with Tennis Australia.

The program allowed the guests to experience sport in Australia while attending the Open over two days.

The Bulldogs’ program leverages the power of sport to assist in the transition of moving to Australia to help them integrate into the community in the Western Region.

The attendees represented a large range of nationalities and age groups including students from the Western English Language School Wyndham.

The program has supported over 3,000 newly arrived Australians from right across the globe including Somalia, Burma, Sudan, India, Vietnam, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Thailand to become a part of the community.
