Season in short:
A highly decorated under 18 career saw Northern Knights captain Hrovat selected with the 21st pick in the 2012 national draft. A renowned contested ball specialist with good goal sense, Hrovat didn’t disappoint in his first season with the Bulldogs. The youngster played seven matches for an average of 16 disposals and four marks.
Stat that mattered:
It was his statistical output as a whole in round 16 against Essendon that stood out for the 19-year-old in his debut season. His 25 disposals at 72% efficiency, eight marks, four clearances, four tackles and four inside 50s showed glimpses of what is to come in his career.
What they said:
“I’m never going to forget that experience, the first time I chucked on a Doggies jumper it was an honour, definitely, and running out with the boys was just phenomenal. Luckily enough [I] got a couple of kicks, was a bit nervous to start with. The build-up and everything is so professional, it just makes you want more… it was an awesome experience and hopefully I can taste a bit more of it.”

Pre-season focus:
Set to build on a strong first season, Hrovat has the opportunity to put in a full pre-season and best prepare himself for next year. Endurance and strength will be high on the agenda, as will be developing his forward craft after showing a real aptitude in the area in 2013.
