Veteran forward Daniel Giansiracusa says his teammates are ready for the “huge challenge” provided by an in-form Collingwood outfit, as the Bulldogs search for their third win on the trot this Sunday.
“They are obviously a huge club and they are seven and four and going along nicely - I am sure they would like to get a victory going into their bye,” Giansiracusa said.
“But we are confident that we are playing reasonable footy.”
The Bulldogs are conscious of the changing face of Collingwood this season and have studied the newcomers closely this week.
“We did the opposition analysis just then and there’s a lot of guys they’ve got out through injury and things like that,” he said.
“We will definitely be researching and making sure we are fully aware of those younger players and making sure we are right on the ball ready to go on Sunday.”
The Bulldogs head into Sunday’s clash with a two game winning streak and the distinct aim of building on current momentum and being competitive for longer.
Giansiracusa said that regardless of the team’s current standing Senior Coach Brendan McCartney has continued with his measured approach is seeking a range of improvements across the board.
“The place feels a bit better – obviously you come in on a Monday with a win which is good,” he said.
“In saying that Macca is quite consistent in his messaging and we still have a lot of work to do.
“We are looking forward to the challenge this week against the Pies and hopefully improving on what we have done after the last couple of weeks.”
