Tom Williams is expected to line up for his first competitive hitout in over eight months this weekend, after successfully resuming training with the main playing group in recent days.

After rehabilitating a foot complaint over the pre-season, Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie said the 26-year-old is clear to play.

Nathan Hrovat, however, has been added to the Western Bulldogs injury list after enduring a calf strain.

“He had a calf strain a few weeks back as well – he’s still a few weeks away, he’s progressing reasonably well,” Mckenzie said.

“He’s into running now so he will be in that phase for another week or two.”

Captain Matthew Boyd will also be restricted to the sidelines for another week, as he continues to make good progress coming back from a calf injury.

Meanwhile Dylan Addison is making steady gains but is still one week away with his hamstring strain.

“Boydy is progressing well he is into full running but he will be another week,” he said.

“Dyl Addison should be training by the end of the week but we expect him to be a further week before playing.”
