Pull on the red, white and blue for round one of the 2013 AFL premiership season, when the Western Bulldogs take on NAB Cup grand finalists Brisbane Lions today at Etihad Stadium.
Dubbed the ‘gathering of the pack’, the Bulldogs are calling on their members and fans to fill Etihad Stadium and be loud and proud in their support of our great club.
If you barrack for the Bulldogs, then make sure you are counted in the crowd on match day - Gather the Pack, bring your friends, your family and see our journey from the start.
The action will kick off before the first bounce when members and fans are given the opportunity to farewell retirees Lindsay Gilbee and Ryan Hargrave during their lap of honour at 1:05pm.
The two Bulldogs veterans will be joined by former Club president David Smorgon, who will also be honoured pre-game after leading the club between 1996 and 2012.
One lucky member will also be given the opportunity to go head to head with Chris Grant, Brad Johnson, Kelvin Templeton and Laurie Sandilands in a goal kicking shootout in front of the home crowd.
Boasting over 1500 goals between them, the four Bulldogs champions will line up from three different points inside the 50m arc, with the most goals taking the honours.
The fun continues at the Footscray End with a range of activities for the whole family including visits from Woofer and Sid the Bulldog, face painting and balloons.
The Bulldog faithful will also be pitted against Brisbane Lions fans in the AFL Playground to see whose supporters can kick the most goals.
Keep an eye on the big screen before the game and at the quarter time breaks for plenty of games and quizzes to keep you busy.
A number of lucky members and fans at the stadium will also get the opportunity to participate in the Bulldogs Nation, for the chance to take home some awesome Western Bulldogs prizes.
