The Western Bulldogs have congratulated Peta Searle on her recent appointment as Development Coach at the St Kilda Football Club.
Coach of the inaugural Western Bulldogs Women’s Team in 2013, Searle has decided to step down from her role at the Club to provide an opportunity for others to expand on their coaching experience and to focus on her new challenge at St Kilda.
“I think that this will provide an opportunity for someone else to gain experience at the elite level and further support coach pathways in female football,” Searle said.

The vacant coaching role has provided an opportunity to reshape the Western Bulldogs’ Women’s Team coaching panel, with the Club pleased to announce that current Assistant Coaches Michael Sandry and Nikki Harwood will Co-Coach the Women’s side in 2014.
Sandry was an Assistant Coach with the Western Bulldogs in 2013 and has had a range of coaching experience through the VWFL with Melbourne University, along with numerous appointments with Victorian Representative teams.
“For us it will be business as usual, I have coached with Peta in different roles over the past three years and have learnt a great deal, ” Sandry said.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Nikki in 2014.”
Western Australian Harwood will bring a thorough knowledge of player’s from both teams, having been an Assistant Coach of the Melbourne Women’s Team in 2013 and current Head Coach of the WAFC Female Football Talent Academy.
“It is a great privilege to be recognised and rewarded with a spot on the coaching panel, to be appointed Co-coach is an great bonus. I’m really looking forward to the game on June 29 and working alongside Mick,” Harwood said.
The Western Bulldogs Women’s Team will have two days of preparation at Victoria University Whitten Oval in the days leading up to the June 29 game, first bounce will be at 10:10am at Etihad Stadium.
