Veteran forward Daniel Giansiracusa is one of three players recalled to the Western Bulldogs side ahead of their round eight clash against Melbourne on Saturday.

Fletcher Roberts and Jason Tutt have also earned promotions after showing strong form in the VFL in recent weeks and will add versatility to the Bulldogs lineup.

Swingman Roberts gets his first opportunity at the top level since round 21 in 2012 and will add further flexibility to the Bulldogs tall stocks, proving capable at both ends of the ground.

Giansiracusa will bolster the Bulldogs up forward after kicking two majors in the VFL last week, while Tutt has been one of the best-performed for Footscray this season with his outside run.

Assistant Coach Shannon Grant said winning the contested ball will continue to be a priority for the Bulldogs on Saturday night.

“We’ll just continue to make sure we get the right balance down back and also who we have up forward – I think we probably lost our way a little bit late in the game with that,” Grant said.

“We will continue to focus on that and keep getting the contest right, keep making sure we are setting up the ground the way we want to when the game stops.

“Off the back of that be able to play and play well, hopefully.”

The trio come into the side in the place of Michael Talia, Koby Stevens and Marcus Bontempelli who have all been omitted.
