This Sunday, the Whitten Oval will come alive when we host a home final for our VFL team against Williamstown.
It shapes as an important weekend for our Club — firstly experiencing a home VFL final, but also seeing off stalwart Daniel Giansiracusa in the main game at Etihad stadium afterwards.

We’re seeing the genuine enjoyment VFL Footy brings to you, our faithful, and we are committed to putting on a match day we can all be proud of.
Ironically, the last time Footscray played Williamstown in a final was the VFA Grand Final back in 1924. That was 90 years ago, and we won by 55 points in front of 18,000 people. What followed was a promotion into the big league, then called the VFL.
It was a historic day for our Club, and we have a unique opportunity to re-create that experience this weekend. It truly makes for a special occasion. Anyone who has experienced Whitten Oval on match day, filled to the brim, will tell you about the boisterous atmosphere — it’s distinctive, it’s us.
Pre-sold ticket sales have been strong, but if you can’t purchase online, take comfort knowing that there will be tickets available to purchase on the day.

Your match-day experience will be made easier with additional parking available, activities for children, ample food, drink and toilets and three gates from which you can enter.
