Football is everyone’s game and the Western Bulldogs, Collingwood and Slater & Gordon are teaming up to promote that message in Sunday’s clash at Etihad Stadium.
As part of the annual Robert Rose Cup, the game will celebrate the contributions of people of all abilities - encouraging increased participation in sporting activities and the opportunity for all Australians to reach their full potential.
Club captains Ryan Griffen and Scott Pendlebury showed their support for the initiative yesterday, conducting a football clinic with a range of avid football fans who are living with disability.
Slater & Gordon General Manager PI South, Personal Injury Janine Gregory said Sunday’s game provides a platform to highlight and promote disability inclusion.
“The game on Sunday is really all about teaming up to support disability inclusion,” Janine Gregory said.
“The partnership between the Western Bulldogs, Slater & Gordon and Collingwood is about promoting people of all abilities.
“What a fine example we have seen of that today with two great captains and some of their most avid football fans participating in a training session [on Tuesday].”
The Robert Rose Cup is named after a former Collingwood and Bulldogs player who was left quadriplegic after being involved in a serious car accident at 22-years-old.
At Sunday’s game Slater & Gordon with support of the two clubs will be raising money for the Robert Rose Foundation – a foundation named in his honour in 1999 soon after his passing.
The foundation aims to raise funds to support to those with spinal cord injuries and their families and members and fans can contribute on Sunday via social media.

Also, as part of the Slater and Gordon disability round, 40 people between the age of 18 and 60 that are living with disabilities will be forming a guard of honour.
This group will be formed from the Bulldogs community partners Mambourin Enterprises, Annecto and Distinctive Options.
