Ryan Griffen has moved into the Official AFL Player Ratings top six for the first time, after Sunday’s standout performance against the Gold Coast Suns in round ten.
The Bulldogs captain has been building since returning to the side in round two and a 28 disposal, seven clearance and eight tackle performance on Sunday sees him inch closer to a top five berth.
The AFL Player Ratings uses a comprehensive statistical formula to determine the competition’s elite performers and Griffen finds himself among the league’s top echelon of players, with Gary Ablett, Scott Pendlebury, Patrick Dangerfield, Joel Selwood and Jobe Watson ahead.
Sunday’s clash against the Suns also sees fellow Bulldogs midfielder Tom Liberatore break into the top 20 of the competition, while Matthew Boyd is third in line – ranked 38th.
Will Minson rounds out the Bulldogs players ranked within the top 50 players of the competition, currently in 44th place – second overall in the competition’s ruck stocks.
