The Western Bulldogs have added some height to the 25-man squad to face Collingwood, with Liam Jones and newly-elevated rookie Mark Austin named as two of four inclusions.

The tall duo are joined by Matthew Boyd and Jason Johannisen who are also in contention for Sunday’s clash.

Jones makes the squad after serving a two game suspension in round eight and then subsequently returning through the VFL for Footscray.

Key defender Mark Austin could also figure into calculations after being elevated from the rookie list today in place of Tory Dickson who has been placed on the long-term injury list.

The 25-year-old former Carlton recruit has been rock sold in defence for the Footscray Bulldogs so far this season and, if selected, will relish the chance to add to his 33 career games.

Matthew Boyd has been named at half-forward and will add some experience rotating through the midfield, after missing the past fortnight with a hamstring complaint.

After being named as an emergency last week, defender Johannisen is also in the mix to return after a strong showing in the VFL last week, and will add some pace to the Bulldogs defence if selected.

Assistant Coach Steven King praised Collingwood for their strong vein of form in recent months and said the Bulldogs will need to get the game on their terms early to combat the Magpies.

“They are in great form, their last couple of months have been really good and solid,” King said.

“[They have] a quality midfield and some big targets up forward and their backs have been really damaging – some high metres gained players that rebound, Seedsman and Young to lead the way.

“Look, [they are an] impressive outfit, well coached and they’ve got some real talent.

“For us it’s just a matter of getting the game back to how we want it played and I guess trying to follow through and execute what we plan.”

The Western Bulldogs will square off against the fourth placed Collingwood on Sunday 15 June 2014 from 3:20pm at Etihad Stadium, competing for the Robert Rose Cup.
