Williamstown face a difficult task on Sunday, lining up on the reigning VFL premiers Geelong Cats in a top of the table clash.
Winning their past four games by an average of 75 points, Geelong currently sit three games clear at the top of the ladder but Williamstown Coach Peter German said his men are up for the challenge.
“We know what we are going to be up against, all the indicators for them show they are number one in most areas of the game,” German said.
“It’s a massive game for us and we know what they did to Casey last week who were second on the ladder.
“We know what is coming but our players will be briefed and the expectation will be fully outlined of how they should play and how to go about it.”
Geelong boast plenty of top line talent in their selected side with 18 AFL listed players, in comparison to eight Bulldogs listed players for the Seagulls.
German said Williamstown will need to maximise every opportunity if they are to remain competitive on Sunday, urging for a whole team effort.
A key indicator for Williamstown will be efficiency on goal, with inaccuracy in front of the big sticks causing headaches in previous weeks.
“The more points you kick the harder it gets because even more pressure mounts,” he said
“We’ve practiced today, we have practiced during the week, we practiced last week, we will keep chipping away at it.
Williamstown will go head to head with Geelong on Sunday 11 August 2013 at Burbank Oval, from 2pm.
