Western Bulldogs midfielder Monique Conti has capped off an impressive 2019 AFLW season, landing fourth in the 2019 AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year award.
Ending the season with 34 votes, Conti was named behind Adelaide’s Erin Phillips (51), Fremantle’s Kiara Bowers (46) and former AFLW Rising Star Ebony Marinoff (35). Co-captain Ellie Blackburn was the next placed Bulldog, ending the season with 29 votes.
Conti received nine out of a possible ten votes for her Round 7 performance against Carlton in the Club’s annual Pride Game, where she collected 25 disposals, four marks and three tackles.
The AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year is voted by the 10 AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game – with ten votes the maximum a player can receive, per round.
