The Bulldogs looked down and out at three-quarter time of their match against Hawthorn on this day last year.
It was the Dogs' first MCG meeting with the Hawks since the famous 2016 Semi Final win, and it looked like it would not end well for Bevo's boys as they entered the final term trailing by 30 points.
But the Dogs had other ideas. After Hawthorn's Jack Gunston responded to an early last-quarter goal from Billy Gowers with one of his own, the Bulldogs went on the rampage, kicked eight unanswered majors to turn a five-goal deficit into a 19-point win, including a game-sealer from Tom Liberatore which prompted Channel 7 commentator Brian Taylor to shout "Libba! Libba! Libba! Libba!"
Josh Schache kicked three last-quarter goals to give him four for the match, earning him a Brownlow vote, while Jack Macrae also registered a final-term major to go with his 36 touches in a best-on-ground performance.
Other stars included Tory Dickson (20 touches and three goals), Lachie Hunter (33 disposals), Caleb Daniel (32), Mitch Wallis (29 touches and a goal) and Matt Suckling (25 kicks and four handballs).
The win gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 start to the 2019 season for the fourth time in Luke Beveridge's five-season coaching career.
