The Western Bulldogs today confirmed ruckman Will Minson has re-signed with the Club until the end of the 2014 season.

The 27-year-old had a break-out season in 2012, leading the competition in hit-outs and relishing the role as the number one ruckman at the Club.

Watch List Manager Jason McCartney discuss Will Minson's re-signing and the Bulldogs opening two days of trade week on the media player above.

Minson, an unrestricted free agent before today, chose to stay at the Kennel under coach Brendan McCartney and said he was pleased to re-commit to the Club he has spent the past 10 seasons at.

“I love it here and support the direction Brendan is taking this group wholeheartedly,” Minson said.

“I’ve built my career at the Western Bulldogs and look forward to being part of the future success this club will undoubtedly have.”

List Manager Jason McCartney said that Minson’s signing was a huge positive for the Club.

“Will is a terrific mentor to our younger, developing ruckmen and one of our core group of experience players, along with the likes of Matthew Boyd, Robert Murphy, Dale Morris and Ryan Griffen.

“Building on a solid season in 2012, we look forward to Will’s continual improvement next year and beyond,” McCartney said.

Drafted with pick 20 in the 2002 National Draft, the South-Australian played 21 games this season and almost doubled his previous seasons best of 365 hit-outs with an impressive 667.
