Williamstown have finished the 2013 VFL home and away season on a high, defeating the Northern Blues by 30 points.
In what was their final game at Burbank Oval for the year, the Seagulls led from start to finish en route to the 17.9 (111) to 11.15 (81) victory.
The win pushes Williamstown up to third place on the VFL ladder, setting up a mouth-watering encounter against Box Hill this Saturday in a qualifying final.
The Seagulls got off to the perfect start against the Blues, booting six goals to one in the opening term (including four goals from Liam Jones) and never looked back.
The Williamstown midfield was able to control the game from the middle and use the ball effectively moving forward, to open up a 41-point half-time lead.
The Northern Blues refused to lie down however, stringing some good passages of play together in the second half to create more opportunities for their forwards.
But the Seagulls defence remained consistent, with running players Daniel Pearce, Jack Charleston and Jamie McNamara all providing plenty of drive and support.
Bulldog Liam Jones also finished the day with six goals and provided a key target throughout the match.
As mentioned, Williamstown must now face the Box Hill Hawks in Box Hill on Saturday in a qualifying final.
The Seagulls will be hoping for a repeat performance from the last time the two sides met, when they came out 25-point winners.
