Revisit the draft years that brought in the current crop of Bulldogs players, continuing with the year 2007.

EASTON WOOD

Easton Wood’s pathway into the AFL was not the traditional route, with the Victorian not playing at TAC Cup level before being drafted.

Wood studied at Geelong Grammar School on a cricket scholarship, but caught the attention of former Bulldogs recruiting manager Scott Clayton in his performances at school football.

While a ‘smoky’ heading into the 2007 draft, the Bulldogs used their fourth pick (#43) on the defender – one of six picks available to the Club on the night

Although injuries had hampered Wood’s career, he undoubtedly had his best return in 2015, with an All-Australian selection and taking home the Club’s best and fairest.

Wood is the sole Bulldog remaining from the 2007 draft, with Jarrad Grant (Gold Coast Suns) and Callan Ward (GWS) both having moved to new clubs.
