A RUN of three losses has brought external pressure on the Western Bulldogs, but coach Rodney Eade maintains his team has not been affected ahead of a crucial road trip to play the Adelaide Crows.

Eade said at Whitten Oval on Thursday that from the club's point of view there was no sense in making rash decisions at the selection table or with its game plan.

"I think those words, panic and crisis, and those sorts of things are generated out in the public," Eade said.

"You can worry but there is no need to have any knee-jerk reaction or panic with it. Once an event happens, you can't change it. You have just got to think of solutions and move forward.

"There's always pressure. If it happens again [that we lose] it's going to be more outside [pressure] from the media and supporters and [there will be] a lot of noise, but all we can do is do what you've got control of.

"Obviously if we lose again there's going to be some issues we need to further address. Certainly from my point of view there's going to be no panic."

Despite some disappointing returns from some senior players in recent weeks, Eade forecast just one change for round seven.

Important defender Tom Williams has been cleared to return after a week out with plantar fasciitis.

"Obviously there are a few players who are struggling and who are down on form," he said.

"[They're] probably a lot of the guys who have played 100 games plus, but they know where they're at and we've got confidence in them to be able to turn it around.

"If their form continues on the down side then obviously there might be some changes at some stage, but I would think this week there would probably be only the one [change]."

Scott Welsh is winning his battle with a back complaint, but Eade felt the former Crow would probably need to play with Williamstown this weekend instead of returning to his old stomping ground at AAMI Stadium.

Ben Hudson is set to play his first game against his old club at the Adelaide ground after being a late withdrawal for the round 22 clash last year.

"I don't think it's going to worry Ben," Eade said.

"Ivan Maric will probably come back this week. He (Hudson) was a bit of a mentor I think to the young guy. Ben's probably another player who's form has tapered a bit over the last few weeks, but I think he knows his importance to us and what he needs to be able to do."

The Dogs have not defeated the Crows in Adelaide since round 11, 2001 but Eade said their focus had been on preparation and not the lopsided record.
