After a runaway win against Brisbane on Saturday night, Western Bulldogs vice-captain Jordan Roughead says his side’s focus will quickly move to their next match.

The 72-point win was the Dogs’ biggest of 2015, but Roughead says they won’t spend much time enjoying their spoils.

“We enjoyed the win last night, the great thing about it was the contributions across the board,” said Roughead on Sunday, speaking with SEN.

“But now our focus moves to St Kilda next Saturday night and hopefully we can come out and perform the way we did last night.”

The Bulldogs play the Saints on Saturday night in the two sides’ second match in seven weeks.

In round six, the Saints came from 55 points behind to record a seven-point victory but Roughead says the Dogs will take confidence out of their resolve shown on the weekend, when Brisbane started to hit the scoreboard.

“We were able to steel ourselves and the boys in the middle really won the battle on the night.

“The times when Brisbane got a bit of momentum, our guys were able to get their hands on it and get the footy going our way.”

Roughead said the Bulldogs’ playing group are building on their belief and confidence, and focusing on maintaining consistency.

“I think we’ve proven this season that our best is capable of beating some of the best. We’ve got it (belief and confidence) in spades at the moment and it’s just a matter of getting that consistency now.

“With a young group it’s hard to get that consistency but I think we’re making a lot of progress. We’re doing a lot of work and I think improvements are starting to come and will continue to come.”
