Luke Dahlhaus is relishing the opportunity to work with new forward coach Daniel Giansiracusa.
The former teammates now share a different relationship after Giansiracusa transferred from player to assistant coach at the end of 2014 and Dahlhaus was full of praise for his new forward line mentor.
“Daniel Giansiracusa’s obviously gone from player to coach and he’s been fantastic for me.
“Helping me with things like goal-kicking and obviously because he’s played up forward for so many years, just giving me little tips and he’s helping me grow my game a lot.”
The 22-year-old capped off a consistent year in 2014 with fourth place in the Charles Sutton medal after averaging 21 disposals and four tackles.
As Dahlhaus enters his fifth season in the AFL, he will continue to provide a versatile option for the Dogs’ list, after spending time in the midfield in 2014 and adding a new dimension to his game.
The livewire forward will be working closely with Giansiracusa, known for his versatility throughout his career and says he’s enjoying their new relationship.
“It’s sort of like having one of your good mates as your coach, he’s fitted in really well and I know all the boys are loving him there.
“It’s been fantastic so far.”
