With the Western Bulldogs opening match of the 2015 season only five days away, young Dog Jack Macrae says the ensuing days will be spent fine tuning ready for the battle for premiership points.
The Bulldogs round one match against West Coast on Saturday night will be the Club’s first under senior coach Luke Beveridge and Macrae says his side is looking forward to the game.
“Obviously all the work that we’ve put in through the pre-season we get to put out on the field this weekend in a full game so everyone’s pretty excited and keen to get out there as you would expect.
“Fine tuning is the main deal for this week and hopefully everyone’s fit for the weekend.”
Macrae played two out of the Club’s three NAB Challenge matches, where he collected 25 disposals against Richmond and 31 against Collingwood, and will head into round one in ball-winning form.
The young midfielder, who now approaches his third season says that after a two-week break, his side is ready to fire against the Eagles.
“(This week we) just get the legs ticking, we had a good weekend off to rest the body and rest the mind as well.
“Everyone’s ready to go... we’ll have a look at them (West Coast) later on in the week, but at the moment it’s just about us.”
