Footscray co-captain Jordan Russell has been rewarded for his consistent season with a spot in the VFL Team of the Year.
Russell was named on the half-back line after averaging 21 disposals and seven marks in the home and away season.
The side was announced at the league’s Liston Medal on Monday night, with North Ballarat’s Nick Rippon taking out the award.
Nathan Hrovat was the Dogs’ highest vote-getter with 10 votes, with Lachie Hunter one vote behind him.
