Western Bulldogs veteran Dale Morris believes his side's exciting brand of football should stack up outside the confines of Etihad Stadium ahead of a trip to Perth to face West Coast.

Sitting fourth, the Bulldogs have won 10 of 12 clashes under the roof at Etihad this season by an average of 45 points, but Morris is confident of his sides chances in the open expanses of Domain Stadium.

Second-placed West Coast is eyeing a home qualifying final after beating top-ranked Fremantle in the Western Derby on Sunday.

"We'll take on anyone, anywhere, that's our mantra and it applies this week against West Coast," Morris said.

"We'll go out there and play our brand of footy no matter who we're up against, whether it's Melbourne or West Coast.

"We aim to play that way whether it's at Etihad or the (MCG), doesn't matter where it is."

The Domain Stadium clash will be the Dogs' first match against a current top-eight side since Fremantle in round seven.

Coleman Medal leader Josh Kennedy has caused Morris and the Bulldogs plenty of trouble with the Eagles spearhead kicking bags of 10 and seven goals in the past few seasons, and the 32-year-old wasn't too thrilled to be reminded of those dirty days.

"Thanks for that, he has (and) I've been on him most of the time," Morris joked.

"The way we set up with defensive structures as a team is something they're going to come up against and that's what changed over the years.

"It's justnot (Kennedy), their forward line is really dangerous and really potent andwe're all going to be on our game to stop that."

For a man who has punched above his weight for his whole career, Morris is delighted with theemergence of several young key defenders that will help curtail Kennedy on Sunday.

"It's been an big improvement area of our club, " said Morris

"You look at (Michael) Talia, (Joel) Hamling, Fletcher Roberts and  (Jordan) Roughead, who has been playing in the key defensive posts, they've all come a long way.

"It's probably a position we haven't had (depth) in for a while, but it's great to have that competition."
