Liam Picken is ‘certain’ to return to AFL football after missing the first two months of the season to date due to concussion symptoms according to coach Luke Beveridge.
The 31-year-old was helped from the ground during the Dogs’ JLT Community Series clash with Hawthorn back in March after an accidental hit from teammate Josh Dunkley.
Appearing on the Marngrook Footy Show on Wednesday night, Beveridge said Picken is likely to play again this season.
“Picko is going well, he’s back out on the track with us,” he said.
“We’re still uncertain when he might return, but we’re quite certain he will return, which is important.”
Picken recently re-joined training with the main group and the coach is optimistic that that the fan-favourite will be back playing football sooner rather than later.
“Hopefully not too long,” Beveridge said. “After another month transpires we might get him back on the field in some capacity.’
