From Marcus Bontempelli’s opening goal 21 seconds into the match to Caleb Daniel’s final major in the dying seconds of the final term, the Dogs led from start to finish.
Luke Beveridge's men played the game completely on the their terms, winning the inside 50 count 57-31, and the Dogs' forward pressure (forward 50 tackles 14-4) generated 33 forward half intercepts and a score of 8.4.(52).
Led by Luke Dahlhaus with eight, the Dogs won the clearances by 11, tackles by seven, the contested ball count by 44, and the 498 total disposals was the most recorded across the competition for Round one.
