Western Bulldogs defender Marcus Adams will be sidelined for the early part of the 2018 AFL season with an ankle injury.

Adams was forced from match simulation training on Friday after his ankle was caught in a tackle.

Scans yesterday confirmed a high grade syndesmosis injury.

He will undergo surgery in the coming days, and the Club estimates he will be unavailable for 10-12 weeks.
