The Footscray Bulldogs will travel to Sandringham this weekend, keen to make amends for the 52-point loss suffered at the hands of Richmond last weekend.
The ‘Scray are one win and one loss on the season, Coach Ashley Hansen telling westernbulldogs.com.au that his side’s early season ledger is an accurate reflection of how his team has opened the season.
“We are one and one for a reason, good one week, poor the next, he said.
“We faced our first challenge of the season last week which we have reviewed and learned from.
“This week provides the opportunity to respond and execute better.”
Both sides have plenty to play for with the Zebras yet to win a game for the 2016.
“They will be keen to achieve their first victory of the season and we are looking forward to the opportunity to respond after last week’s inconsistent performance.”
While Footscray’s AFL listed players have performed well over the first two weeks of the season, Hansen said that the VFL listed group have made important contributions over the first two rounds.
“Nick Jamieson, Jordan Russell, Josh Wallis and Mark Austin have been impressive while Lauchie Dalgleish, JD Hayes, Liam Nash and Mitch Hannan are showing what they are capable of but probably not influencing the contest over four quarters yet.
“All are young men that will continue to build their games each week and find consistency as they mature.”
Saturday’s match will be streamed live here from 2pm.
