I became a Western Bulldogs Member because...

As a 4-5 year old not been able to travel the 2 hour trip with my Pop was a huge disaster, and borrowing his friends membership when he was not able to attend was simply not going to fulfil my ambitions.

Thus, Christmas morning 1999, was the day my little world changed forever. I had my own membership - it had MY name, seat and I was going to the football with Pop!

Five generations of Bulldogs blood and my families biggest commitment, religion and passion was to becoming my reality.

My favourite Bulldogs football memory is...

As an excitement riddled 5 year old would do on Christmas morning, I was up before the sun on the day of my first every match, dressed and ready to go a lazy 5 hours before our train was due to leave.

Upon arriving at the ground with Pop I was overwhelmed. It was real, it was happening, I was here, I was going to watch my beloved Bulldogs personally and was surrounded by fellow Bulldogs supporters.

To this day, 16years later, I still remember beating North Melbourne, crying as we sang the mighty 'Sons of the West' as winners and talking my Pops ears off all the way home. This is quite possibly the day his hearing began to deteriorate!

All these years on and nothing has changed.

The Bulldogs are important to me because...

The Western Bulldogs means family. Born and breed committed Bulldogs. At 23 I am a 5th generation Bulldog following in the footsteps of my mother, grandfather, great-grandfather/mother & great, great-grandfather/mother; all Footscray raised.

Following in my footsteps is my 3year old son, whom in 2016 became a member and dons his attire, beanie at a minimum, every Tuesday morning for creche win loose or draw.

A bulldog legacy that WILL live on for as long as life itself exists.

My first memory of being a Bulldogs member, or going to a Bulldogs match is...

Arriving into the world on the 29th of May 1993, 6 weeks early, no bigger than a ruler; I remember been held by my Pop for the first time and hearing him whisper in my 'Go Doggies!’.

Okay, maybe I was a little to young to remember, but it is definitely a something that will be remembered and reoccured at my sons birth in 2013!

Clearly Pop has a 100% rate at turning his grandchildren's hearts red, white and blue from birth!
