Eight former Bulldogs will pull on the boots again when Victoria takes on the All-Stars for the EJ Whitten Legends Game in September at Etihad Stadium.

1,434 games of Bulldogs’ experience will run out in the name of prostate cancer research and awareness, led by games record holder Brad Johnson and seven time best and fairest Scott West.

Between 1995 and 2006 the pair won all but two Charles Sutton Medals.

1990 Brownlow Medallist Tony Liberatore will also pull on the Big V, as will Lindsay Gilbee and former full forward Barry Hall.

Fan-favourite Danny Southern will be wearing the red of the All-Stars alongside 77-game Bulldog Jason Akermanis.

Kym Koster is the final Bulldog that will pull-on the boots in September. Koster played 38 games at the Kennel in the 1994 and 1995 season, before heading to the Adelaide Crows and playing a further 95 games over the ensuing five seasons.

This year’s game will feature some of the biggest names the game has seen, including 11 Hall of Famers, 27 All-Australians and 36 premiership players.

The match will take place on Friday, September 2 at 7.30pm.
