Forward Jake Stringer will miss Friday night's clash with Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium with a hamstring injury sustained in the loss to Port Adelaide. 

After 26 touches and six tackles in the VFL on the weekend, Matthew Boyd, who turns 35 on Sunday could be considered for a final game after recently calling time on his 16-year AFL career.  

Tom Boyd made an encouraging return from his mental health battles with a three-goal performance in the VFL, but the key forward will likely remain with Footscray, while draftee Patrick Lipinski could come into consideration after strong VFL form. 

The Northern Knights product, who had 32 disposals on the weekend, is a classy midfielder who wins his own ball and is strong overhead. 

Ruckman Tom Campbell made an impressive return from an abdominal concern, collecting 35 hit-outs, 18 disposals and a goal. Midfielder Lukas Webb continued his strong state league form with 30 disposals, while Mitch Honeychurch (three goals) and Clay Smith (25 possessions) were also prominent.
